Original .50 Cal Inspection Mirror Tool
Genuine original .50 Cal Bore Sight manufactured by C. Cowles & Company of Newhaven Conneticut. A standard inspection tool issued to US Army troops in the Second World War, used to look down into the barrel of weapons and check for dirt and debris to properly clean and maintain the weapon. Roughly 45mm long.
Condition:
All items are in good used condition with signs of light wear typical of used military equipment; it is possible that all of these sights are entirely unused deadstock items which were never distributed and never used; but have dirt, scuffs, and light corrosion as a result of surviving 80+ years in storage.
Some items have small spots of rust on the surface of the blacked steel body and some items have original small imperfections on the mirror glass which would have been present at the time of manufacture. The tools are a simple design and can be disassembled and cleaned with ease to restore them to 'brand new' condition.
